Still a few in the tank…

Sets take their time turning up this morning...

Hello Friends,

Good to see that yesterday’s uptick has lasted through the night and into this morning. Down Dee Why way there are a few sets into the chest high range at both the point and the beach. Given the swell is dead south at 8 seconds, I’d think spots facing that direction will potentially have the odd head high set. It’s a couple metres out at sea on average, so there should be beginner grade waves at less directly exposed stretches.

The weather forecast for Sydney is sunny this morning but clouding up toward dusk with the possibility of a shower.

Outlook for the next few days is for the swell to gradually fade to near flatness by Saturday afternoon and not really to turn around much before Tuesday morning. I have to confess though that in my febrile state I haven’t studied the charts too intensively, so here’s hoping the Goat will have time to study the entrails on our behalf.

Go well with your day!

Not super consistent but a few to be had.

Few little waves around today

Posted on August 7th, 2008 in Curl Curl, Dee Why.

Just had a fun surf during lunch at Curly.  Some nice banks and peaks all along the beach. Definitely worth a go but just beware the thunderstorm currently passing overhead.  Tiny wave at Dee Why– one out at the Point.

not bad

Some pretty sweet little beachbreaks around. Short period SE swell in the 2-3ft+ range, brushed by a nice SW  breeze early – felt like it went more S around 8am. Worth a paddle, water temp around 15/16?. Looks like the wind has gone round to a lite  N – which will open up a few options. Rosco.

A few waves on offer at Curly

Posted on August 7th, 2008 in Curl Curl, Surf Reports.

2 weeks to the Mentawais!  Around 2 feet + this morning at Curly with offshores and medium crowd.  Well worth a paddle around the low tides which was early this morning and later tonight.  Outlook is nothing spectacular.  Enjoy.

Fine, clear and cold on the Central Coast this Thursday morning.  The swell is smooth and small at 1 – 2 feet from the southeast.  There is a light west northwest breeze.  Low tide 0600 and high tide around 1225.  Local barometer 1008 hpa, 95% humidity, 5 degrees C.  Have a good one!
