Had to run an errand, so made a jaunt of it and had a look at a few beaches along the way. The day has improved quite considerably since this morning. The average size of the swell off Sydney has jumped from about a metre to three metres (!) and the period has gone from around 7 seconds to almost 9. It’s still straight south, but the size is making numerous spots light up.
South end of Curly had a few on it, but there was more size up the beach where there were fewer people. The banks looked a bit so-so and I didn’t see anyone really nail a great looking wave. Of course, I didn’t stick around long either.
Dee Why has started to work, although up toward Longy the size is better. Longy itself I didn’t really check properly, but it looks as though the bombies could be putting together a few options for those so inclined
Had a brief glance at Northy from atop the Plateau, and I could see a few bods in the water there too. Not at all the right swell direction for that place, so really more of an indicator of other possibilities.
The forecast models continue to insist that this little pulse is only going to stick around until maybe lunchtime at best tomorrow. So, if you can, I’d be heading out for a wave right now…
Have yourself a good one.
