Instant replay of yesterday
Posted on September 2nd, 2008 in Big Picture, Dee Why.Hello Friends,
One of those mornings where your correspondent is running a bit late. Apologies!
A good morning for it as it happens because we’re into near-flatness. Swell settings are similar to what they were yesterday, ie a metre at around 8 seconds. The main difference is that the energy is coming more from the east, so it could be that there are one or two vaguely surfable spots around. Dee Why, however, isn’t one of them. Very tiny down there this morning.
Looking at the indicators, I’d say we’re in for another 2-3 days of this. The models have been bouncing around a fair amount over the last couple days, but they’re still showing some very interesting possibilities as we head into the weekend. It looks as though the fruits of a broad area of fetch north east of NZ will start arriving from the east around Friday, but at about the same time the Bureau thinks we could see an east coast low start to develop off the north coast (looks like a wild weekend for the Goat!).
The latest run of the models suggests that we should see the big stuff starting to arrive in Sydney late Friday and building overnight. The question mark in my mind is whether we’ll be getting much of the energy in Sydney. It looks as though the brunt of the power will hit north from here. That said, I don’t think it’s too likely to be flat this weekend!
Hope you’re having a top old day. Go well!
Yawn…. Nice day, but nice and flat…
Posted on September 2nd, 2008 in Dee Why.Nothin doin. But looking quite promising come tomorrow afternoon. Reckon we’ll see some very nice 12-14 second interval E swell from about Wed pm til Sunday. Fingers crossed…
cracking day – but only eensy waves
Posted on September 2nd, 2008 in South Coast.Superb spring day – blue sky, lite offshore, but only a couple of leftovers in terms of waves. 1ft with the occasional bigger set. Tide has swallowed it up a bit, but maybe some improvement after lunch with a dropping tide. Worth a paddle – even if only to get wet and enjoy the sun. Rosco.

Posted on September 2nd, 2008 in Central Coast, Surf Reports.Fine, sunny and cold on the Central Coast this Tuesday morning. The swell is smooth, weak and very small at 1 – 2 feet max from the east southeast. There is a light west southwest breeze forecast to go southeast later. High tide 0945 and low tide around 1550. Local barometer 1017 hpa, 93% humidity, 5 degrees C. Have a good one!
