Blue skies, but blues
Posted on September 26th, 2008 in Big Picture, Dee Why.Hello Friends,
Yet another knock-out morning for Sydney. Light breeze, sunny skies, mild temps, it’s all good but for one tiny issue… there’s just about nothin’ in the way of waves at Dee Why (nor anywhere else in the Sydney region I fear).
As you can see from the picture, there’s only a little rime of froth around the rocks at the point. Sets are struggling to get into the two-foot face range. Out at sea, the Sydney MHL buoy is showing about a metre of 8 sec period swell from the SSE. The other buoy data shows that it’s even smaller (!) south from here, and not significantly better if you head north.
The mighty Goat has been around to see Huey (see his wrap here) and I defer to his prognostications about the weekend and outlook for early in the new week.
Go well with your Friday!
Favour to ask: a few months ago, I asked if anyone had a surplus notebook as my daughter’s school one had died. We found one and it worked until about a week ago when something went pffft. I’d be happy with anything that can run linux for my budget of bugger all. If you’ve got one, just drop me a line via our feedback form. And thanks in advance!

Posted on September 26th, 2008 in Shari's wanderings, Surf Reports. It’s coming down to last chances to win the newly released Kings of Leon Only By The Night CD, signed by the band, and have a chance at winning the framed album artwork, also signed by KoL.
4 signed CDs to be won by 5pm Monday. 1 lyric starter line for all 4 days. So, you can submit once, twice, three or four times if you feel like it!
Good luck RealSurfers. This all ends at 5pm on Tuesday when all 14 signed CDs and the album artwork will have been won.
Here’s the link to the comp page: Surf is . . . Sex On Fire
Better to think about surf than work, or the fact that there are no waves ![]()
Have a great weekend everyone. Pray to Huey for swell!
