Yawn.
Posted on October 5th, 2008 in Dee Why.First day of daylight savings goes down on record as unimpressive on all counts and the close up report fares no better than Don’s top-of-the-hill report. It’s just plain ordinary out there. No surf, temperatures back to cool again, it’s opressively overcast and there’s light drizzle in Dee Why. Back to bed. Hit the snooze alarm again. And again. Cheers, Rob

From a hard core extreme challenge to disappointing ordinary flat surf conditions, ho hum. Showers and mild on the Central Coast this Sunday morning. The swell is semi-smooth and micro at 0 – 1 foot from the east. There is light to moderate southwest breeze but set to go southeast then northeast this arvo. Low tide 0500 and high tide around 1135. Local barometer 1011 hpa, 98% humidity, 15 degrees C. Have a good long weekend!
Hello to the early risers
Posted on October 5th, 2008 in Big Picture.Hello Friends,
As of midnight the average height of the 6 sec period east windswell was only a metre, but 9 hours later, the direction has switched to the SSW and the average size has jumped to 2 metres. Whilst the period has bumped up slightly to around 7 seconds, the swell is coming from the wrong direction to be much felt in Sydney.
If you can find something rideable, I tips my lid to ya!
Not much wind around this morning. The Bureau’s call is for S-SW 15-20 kts backing off as the morning goes along, then swinging S-SE, before going around to the NE at 10-15 kts.
Not too encouraging for surfers it has to be said. I’ll head out on some errands shortly and if I find anything, will report back… in the meantime, have yourself a top old day!
