1800: pretty messy but waves
1800: pretty messy but waves

Hello Friends,

Just a quick one to mention that the swell has perked up a little. More or less as expected really. The conditions are less than wonderful, but at 1800 there were folks in the water catching waves down at Dee Why.

Swell is up by close to a metre from this morning, so it’s averaging around 2.5 metres at sea from the SSW. Huey’s nudged the power setting up a touch as well, moving it from 6sec to a little better than 7sec at the last run of the data from the MHL buoy. Wind is going pretty hard though. It’s in the 15-20 kt range from the south – hence the ordinary conditions in the water at Dee Why. As you head north along the beach toward the pole, the waves look bigger but even more crumbly and messy than back toward the SLSC.

Here’s the latest from the Bureau for tomorrow morning:

Wind: S 20/30 knots, increasing to 25/35 knots during the morning.Sea: 2.5 to 3.5 metres. Swell: S 2 to 3 metres. Mostly cloudy day with occasional showers.

Not the best, but at least there’ll be some swell getting into the south corners – with any luck.

Have a top old evening!
