Sunny breaks on Sunday

Not great or anything, but at least he's getting wet.

Midday, checked the beaches when out and about on errands. Gee there were a lot of cars on the road. Wind was kinda east, so both sides of Longy were messy and weakly junky. Still, there were a few folks in catching knee to waist high crumblers on a lovely warm spring day. Gardens looked a touch better than Longy, but there wasn’t much in it either quality or size-wise. Just good to be in the water I’d say. Have yourself a good one!

0930: little peeler runs along the rocks at the point.

You’ll need to be extra keen this morning if you want to catch a few ripples at Dee Why. The windswell has gone around to the south in the last 12 hours or so. It’s about a metre out at the buoy, but the period is a wimpy 6 seconds. And, from the look of the NSW buoy traces, it’s much the same up and down the coast.

The Bureau’s call is for SW-SE going SE this morning, then swinging NE this afternoon. There seems to be a very slight uptick down toward Eden, so maybe there will be some slight improvement in the northern corners late today.

It still looks like things will be pretty tiny for the next couple days, but with luck from around about Wednesday we’ll start to see something into the surfable range. At this stage, it doesn’t look too amazing – maybe waist to chest high sets at open beaches – but at least there’s a little something on the cards.

on saturday at 5 pm: maxing at one foot at our rivermouth point, alas – all the right shape and structure for good riding, but too tiny – surfmobile traffic from further up the straits, suggests that surfing is to be had there – conditions change quickly at the rivermouth as well – yahoo ! strong marine wind warning for the mouth of the straits, sure to send some more swells rolling down – winds southerly to 25 knots – please stay tuned – …..

Surfboat carnival at Dee Why again today

Suggest staying clear of Dee Why today as it’s Day 2 of some sort of surfboat carnival and the beach is mobbed with boys in Speedos pulled up their bums playing with those odd anachronistic weird old boats (sorry, but there’s just something really WRONG about whole scene…time to dig a big hole and put all those things in it and move on boys. The world has changed around you!

As Don sez, not much surf here anyway so you won’t be missing much.  Maybe some more surf coming later in the week.

Top Shelf But Only The Weather.

It’s as weak and small as a coffee from MacDonald’s. Unfortunately, just like MacDonald’s you can’t keep yourself from going. Such a perfect day, could you think of anything better than surfing small and weak waves?

Overcast with some showers.  The swell is O – 1 foot but pretty much flat yet some smooth conditions.  There is a light southwest breeze to turn southeast later.  High tide  0440 low tide 1140.  Have a good weekend.
