Beautiful morning and waves too
Posted on December 1st, 2008 in Big Picture, Dee Why.Hello Friends,
What an absolute corker of a morning. Blue skies, light offshores and best of all some nicely lined up S-SE windswell. Not a bad sort of effort for the first day of summer, Huey. Sets at Dee Why point aren’t as juicy or as big as the beachy, but the bigger ones are in the chest to shoulder high range for the reasonable size crew. The aforementioned beach break seems to be closing out for the most part, but there are a few head high set waves in the mix, so there are a few folks in having fun with those nice green faces.
The Bureau says that the wind will stay out of the NW but it will build up into the 15-20kt range ahead of a 20-25 kt SE change this evening. Tide’s high around mid-morning, so bear that in mind as you make your calculations. I’m hoping to get out and about for a look later, so I’ll post again if I turn up anything of interest.
The models are still looking fairly ordinary for the week ahead. Basically, where Sydney’s concerned, it’s set to be close to flat through the weekend according to the super computers. Hope they’re proven comprehensively wrong…
Have yourself a top old day!

Posted on December 1st, 2008 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Worth a paddle everywhere this morning. Just got out at Maroubra and the nor-easter hit it. Bondi would be a better option from now on. Bronte reef looked close to perfect this morning and I’m sure the 40(!) odd crew out there had fun. Tama had a nice clean left as well but not sure if it’s being messed up by the nor-easter.
RealSurf Demo Day #1 CANCELLED
Posted on December 1st, 2008 in At large, News Stories, Site News, Surf News.Sorry, but due to a forecast for utter and complete flatness, we decided to pull the plug on this date and to start working on a new one instead. -Don

Posted on December 1st, 2008 in Surf Reports.on sunday at 2 pm: up to double head – long, powerful, clean, lightly-blustery lines – one of the stellar days for which our rivermouth point waits forlornly all year, and which finally vaults it into the world-class break category – very crowded waves – the kind of crowd that hollers support when you pull for a wave – better than hostility ! …. – i managed a half-dozen rides very easily, just by staying a little further in than the madding crowd – foggy… ghostly surfers appearing all across the rivermouth, sampling the neatness of these waterborne conveyor-trays – water still deliciously-tingling december, rather than body-and-mind-numbing february … – marine winds westerly to 15 knots – conditions are likely to settle slowly – gather ye nuts while ye may -**********- shall my heart become a tree heavy-laden with fruit that i may gather and give unto them? and shall my desires flow like a fountain that i may fill their cups? – k gibran …. …
Plenty of waves
Posted on December 1st, 2008 in Curl Curl, Surf Reports.3-4 feet at Curly this morning with offshore winds, medium crowd and some tasty looking sections. Dee Why wasn’t working, I had a few on the point and then went out at Curly which was heaps better. Swell fading fast. Cracker of a day- enjoy.

Posted on December 1st, 2008 in Mona Vale. The conditions this morning are perfect, it’s really smooth waves, light offshore. The waves, however, are closing out. Find somewhere with decent banks this morning and you’ll be sure to score some waves!
