Dee Why — swell fading but not gone…

Posted by: Rob's Eye on Dee Why on December 2nd, 2008

Despite the forecasts, the swell continues to hang around another day, but it’s dropped from y’day.

What a wild day it was Monday. Started off pumping at the Point, by mid morning has faded, then by mid afternoon that nor’wester kicked in, it all smoothed out and the swell started pumping again right up til about dark. There were some folks getting some great cover up and down the beach all day but it was shifty and the big ones mostly closing out. Still, the conditions were great, even if the banks weren’t.

Hard to say what it’ll do today. Nobody on the Point at 0700 but crew of about 20 up the middle at Dee Why getting a couple nice ones now and again.  Sets in the chest to head high vicinity.

Forecast is for the southerly to go nor’east later in the day and for the swell to drop. High temperature forecast is for 26 but it’s already 25 here in Dee Why at 0700… Cheers,  Rob
