Drizzle and Dribble
Posted by: Don on December 5th, 2008Hello Friends,
Not the most enticing start to proceedings in Sydney today. Grey skies and drizzle, but worse, there doesn’t seem to be anything above knee high at Dee Why. Wind is due to be out of the NW early and then to swing NE later and to push up to 20-25kts by evening. At the same time, the gloomy skies of this morning should be gone as the day builds up to a high of around 29. If the wind gets up to the speeds the Bureau calls for, we could see some little junky windswell waves at places like Northy Curly, Northy, Mona and Whaley. But I reckon it’s likely to be pretty marginal.
Sadly, the outlook for tomorrow is so tiny that we’ve pulled the plug on what was to be our first board demo day. If the models and forecasts prove to be correct, Saturday could be flat with NW winds, swinging SE later and getting to 15-20kts.
Sunday is looking good (ie safely tiny) for the Ocean Care Day Little Penguin paddle out at South Steyne on Manly beach. If you’re keen to participate in this exercise to highlight the plight of the last mainland little Penguin colony in NSW, be sure you jump over to the rego page that’s been set up for the occasion. I’m planning to be in the water with my trusty Olympus waterproof camera to grab a few shots for posting on RealSurf.
Have yourself a top old day and may it all go well for you.
