It’s here
Posted by: Don on December 15th, 2008Hello Friends,
midday update: had a look around at about noon and can tell you that Warriewood isn’t too crowded but like everywhere else, pretty fat and full. Sets are definitely overhead though. Maybe not the greatest quality but you’re going to be looking to get out of the wind, and it’s one place where you can do that very thing.
Wandered down to Collaroy and it is a lot more crowded. Heaps of bods catching the usual weird high tide reforming stuff. Every now and then one sort of stands up, but you’d rate the quality overall at maybe 5/10. I’ll try to get out and about again this afternoon, so check back for an update…
Here’s this morning’s report…
Up late with Ross working on the forum upgrade, but had to get up early to see how the swell looked…
And how it looks is big, raw and crazy. But that hasn’t stopped a hardy crew paddling out to meet Huey’s latest offering. The bigger sets are shutting down the point, and you can pretty much forget the beach – unless you happen to like duck diving.
The latest data from the Batemans Bay buoy (the only one working in the southern two-thirds of NSW) is showing 4-7 metres of 10-12 sec period south swell.
Wind in Sydney is out of the WSW at 10-15kts as I write this at around 0730.
The Bureau’s latest call is for the swell to fade rapidly during the day from 3-4 metres now, to 2-3 metres by close of play. Tomorrow the call is for 1.5 to 2 metres and the rest of the week is looking pretty small…
I’m hoping to get out and about with a camera today, so I should be posting again later. Have yourself a good one!
