Posted on January 9th, 2009 in Cool Picks, Editor's picks.09-01-2009 — “It’s a hit, broseff. Actually, more like a slap in the face.” This scathing attack by Laura Burrows at ING Entertainment on Matthew McConaughey’s surf film must be ten times as entertaining as the movie. You decide:
Narrabeen Rpt
Posted on January 9th, 2009 in Surf Reports.More of the same crap conditions. I’ve forgotten what surfing even is!
Save your sickies.
Posted on January 9th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama. There’s a bit of swell getting into my lot but the wind is pushing it over like a school bully pushes over the school pushover. Bronte reef the most protected and not bad to waist high. South Bondi’s cosy corner worth a look depending on the tide you can score it at. Maccas and Tama very wind affected. There’s a few blueys too so see if you can borrow a pair of your wife’s stockings. (That was a joke by the way, my wife would never let me borrow a pair of her stockings. I know ’cause I’ve asked.)
Yeeeew Mona

Nationals
Posted on January 9th, 2009 in New Zealand.Swell is here. 4-6ft and will be offshore this weekend. Nationals are on at Piha, so expect crowds. East coast getting up to same size, and looks fantastic for Monday.
C C
Posted on January 9th, 2009 in Central Coast, Surf Reports.Overcast, dry and mild on the Central Coast this Friday morning. The swell is ruffled and smallish at 1 – 3 feet from the southeast. There is a light to moderate southeast breeze. High tide 0710 and low tide around 1405. Local barometer 1013 hpa, 70% humidity, 18 degrees C. Have a good weekend.
SE wind…
Posted on January 9th, 2009 in At large.Hello Friends,
From the other side of the world, it looks as though Sydney’s got a pretty blaah sort of day lined up. As I write this around 0630, the wind is around 15-20kts from the SSE at Little Bay and North Head. The Bureau’s marine forecast for today in Sinney is as follows:
Wind: SE 15/20 knots reaching 20/25 knots in the morning, easing to 10/15 knots in the evening and tending E/SE. Sea: 1.5 to 2 metres abating to 1 to 1.5 metres by the evening. Swell: SE about 1.5 metres.
Lovely. And there’s a chance of a shower this morning (although I can’t see anything on the radar) along with general cloudiness all day with a high along the coast of around 21.
Doesn’t look as though surfing’s on the agenda for your correspondent today in SoCal. Swell’s faded a fair amount overnight and I’m not that keen to drive back down to C-Street for mainly waist high offerings. My 7S goes well in the little waves, but the tool of choice would have to be a mal, and I don’t have one of those to hand.
Go well with your plans and endeavours!

Saturday morning saw a couple metres of south swell with a period of about 10 seconds lighting up beaches around Sydney. South Narrabeen was looking tasty early with offshore conditions...
What a great weekend! So what if Huey didn’t deliver as expected – the sun shone, the wind blew offshore and there were waves! I burnt a bit of petrol cruising round...
