7 surfers from Bondi to Bronte!!!!!!!
Posted on January 10th, 2009 in Bondi, Bronte, Tama.Imagine if the surf was really good and there were only 7 surfers from Bondi to Bronte. Well half of that dream is true today. I think I’d prefer some surf and heaps of surfers to this rubbish.
It’s Saturday
Posted on January 10th, 2009 in Sunshine Coast. The swell has picked up overnight. At first light the wind was already blowing from the south but will shift more to the SE and increase throughout the day. Most places will be rubbish today.Noosa will have waves and the crowd to go with ,Malabar has some clean waves on the high tide, Moffats has a few on the inside but the Windansea board riders have there comp set up there.Weather wise warm but over cast and showery.
Early riser call
Posted on January 10th, 2009 in At large.Hello Friends,
Lookin’ pretty weak in Sydney from the indicators accessible from the otherside of the world by yours truly. Maybe 6-8 kts of easterly to NE breeze at 0500. No real sign of swell, although it has to be said that I don’t have the Sydney buoy to refer to, so I’m guessing that the 2m of 8s period windswell up at Crowdy Head isn’t likely to be making itself felt much in Sydney. The guess is based on the following forecast from the Bureau for today:
Wind: E/NE 10/15 knots freshening to NE 15/20 knots in the afternoon. Sea: 1 to 1.5 metres rising to 1.5 to 2 metres in the afternoon. Swell: SE 1 to 1.5 metres.
Nearly as I can tell from the forecast models, you’ll be doing well to find much of anything of interest until later today, and then I’m guessing marginal – but check the Goat’s call!
Kinda like your chances in Sydney for something midweek as it currently looks as though some east swell could fill in from around Tuesday.
Doesn’t look at all promising on this end of the pond, but I’m about to drive from Santa Barbara down to Ventura, so who knows… might find a little something…
Go well with your day!

What a great weekend! So what if Huey didn’t deliver as expected – the sun shone, the wind blew offshore and there were waves! I burnt a bit of petrol cruising round...
