Early riser call
Posted by: Don on January 10th, 2009Hello Friends,
Lookin’ pretty weak in Sydney from the indicators accessible from the otherside of the world by yours truly. Maybe 6-8 kts of easterly to NE breeze at 0500. No real sign of swell, although it has to be said that I don’t have the Sydney buoy to refer to, so I’m guessing that the 2m of 8s period windswell up at Crowdy Head isn’t likely to be making itself felt much in Sydney. The guess is based on the following forecast from the Bureau for today:
Wind: E/NE 10/15 knots freshening to NE 15/20 knots in the afternoon. Sea: 1 to 1.5 metres rising to 1.5 to 2 metres in the afternoon. Swell: SE 1 to 1.5 metres.
Nearly as I can tell from the forecast models, you’ll be doing well to find much of anything of interest until later today, and then I’m guessing marginal – but check the Goat’s call!
Kinda like your chances in Sydney for something midweek as it currently looks as though some east swell could fill in from around Tuesday.
Doesn’t look at all promising on this end of the pond, but I’m about to drive from Santa Barbara down to Ventura, so who knows… might find a little something…
Go well with your day!
