Sunny and mild to start
Posted on January 28th, 2009 in Big Picture, Dee Why.Hello Friends,
Glad to be in Sydney rather than Adelaide or Melbourne today. While they’re heading into the 40′s again, we’re set for around 28 on the coast, but out west the temps will get into the mid-30′s. If you’re looking at another day in the oven and wondering if it’s worth the trek to the beach today for a wave, I have to tell you that we’re facing another day of tiny conditions in Sydney. So maybe pack the mask and snorkle as well as the mal or fishy.
The Sydney buoy is showing a metre of 8 sec period SE windswell. The models reckon that it should be more around to the east over the next 24 hours, but they’re also projecting that we’ll be into a more NE pattern from Friday. But it still seems that we’re unlikely to see much above waist high at the exposed spots because heights at sea are set to be only 1 to 1.5 metres and periods are going to stay short.
Patience friends, patience.
Have yourself a great day and stay cool if you can!

Dee Why afternoon update 5pm
Posted on January 28th, 2009 in Dee Why.Sad to report that there’s not been any real substantive change in the surf conditions at Dee Why since Don’s report this morning. Pretty much the usual dribble about knee to waist high at Dee Why Center, Poles and Longy currently being roughed up a bit by about 12 knots of NE wind. On a malibu you might catch a few, otherwise not worth the bother. As usual, Dee Why Point is flat, not even a line for a SUP or a mal.
Yeeeeww
Posted on January 28th, 2009 in Mona Vale. There’s no waves out Mona this morning, nice for a swim but if you wanna surf either try somewhere else or wait for low tide! Ya dig

Posted on January 28th, 2009 in Central Coast, Surf Reports.Fine, foggy and warm on the Central Coast this Wednesday morning. The swell is smooth, weak and very small at 1 – 2 feet from the east. There is a very light northwest breeze forecast to go northeast and strengthen later with a warm day. High tide 1020 and low tide around 1655. Local barometer 1014 hpa, 94% humidity, 18 degrees C. Have a good one.
