on saturday at 4 pm: up to head-high, steady, but sloppy and blustery – we had a major hailstorm last night, and this was the ragged end of a stormy swell, pushing down the straits to our rivermouth point – expect excellent conditions at the lost village beach, and further up the straits, based particularly on the unusually heavy surfmobile traffic, back and forth on the way to our rivermouth point – i was the only one to venture out at that moment, following one intrepid kitesurfer – various fussy (or exhausted) surfers leered from their cars – i caught 4 easy ones, with the easy right on the east side of the point, all to myself – then the fingers began to numb – the water is about at its coldest this month …. – marine winds at the straits mouth, southeasterly to 30 knots – **********- if this is my day of harvest, in what fields have i sowed the seed, and in what unremembered seasons? – k gibran ….
