Fine and dry on the Central Coast this Thursday morning. The swell is smooth and clean at 3 – 4 feet from the east southeast. There is a light southwest breeze forecast to go southeast then northeast later, wet weather back for the weekend. High tide 0455 and low tide around 1205. Local barometer 1003 hpa, 97% humidity, 18 degrees C. Have a good one.
Byron Bay Feb 18 / 09

We awoke this morning to sound of consistent rain on the roof In Byron Bay. Hmm rain I muse, good we need it but it could be hard to shoot today. Thankfully my prophetic skills remain nonexistent. Upon arriving in town the clouds parted on cue. Revealing a small and feverishly happy crew enjoying some sweet but ver small little slides through one of Byron’s much loved breaks. Ok so it was a little small for riding a shortie, but hey, who bothers with a shortie when it’s small anyway? So it was loggers, eggs and flying fish In Byron Bay Today. There was much hooting and hollering at some very long nose rides. Every now and again, someone on a fish would wind up enough speed through the micro bowl section to draw a full rail sweep out wide. There were walkers on the beach, talkers in the cafes and a general air of gratitude for where we are and the fact that half the Gold coast didn’t bother to turn up today. When it shone it shone, when it rained it rained, yet either way it was quite simply good to be In Byron Bay. For the full update click here.
