What the Bureau says

Friday dawns in Sydney with more surf in prospect. The swell’s gone a little more to the SE and it’s still close to the two metre mark we had yesterday, but the period’s bumped up to 9 seconds.

Here’s the Bureau’s call for the day ahead on the waters off Sydney.

Wind: SW/SE 10/15 knots, tending SE/NE 10/15 knots during the afternoon, NE 5/10 knots at night.Sea: 1 to 1.5 metres, abating to less than 1 metre at night. Swell: E/SE 2 to 2.5 metres decreasing to 1.5 to 2 metres later. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms.

I’m off for a closer look, so stay tuned for a few pics and such over the next hour or so.
