Posted on February 23rd, 2009 in Curl Curl, Surf Reports.3-4 ft at 9-10 secs out of the SE with N/NE winds. It’s a little full but I reckon by the arvo it should be cranking on the low. Waves everywhere- Manly looked good too. Enjoy.

Posted on February 23rd, 2009 in Mona Vale. The waves are sick today! it’s like a cleaner, slightly bigger version of yesterday! really worth getting down to your local if you get a chance! i think most beaches have better banks than MV though.
Waves, we have more waves
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 in Big Picture, Dee Why, Gardens, Long Reef.Hello Friends,
Well, well, well… I love it when that happens. All the models were pointing toward marginal conditions, but yesterday evening when I went for a dip at Longy, there were quite distinct sets… and this morning we have 2 metres of SSE swell at a healthy 11 sec period. Not only that, there’s not much wind to start with.
It looked like there were a few peaks worth the chasing at Gardens, but no one was in amongst them. Collaroy might have a learner wave, Whiterock didn’t show anything while I watched, but a rather attractive set wave came around Makaha. It’s a pretty sketchy setup out there at the best of times, but early morning under cloudy weather, and after recent rain… and with heaps of bait fish around… maybe not…
Around the corner at the Dee Why end of the beach, the swell was focusing quite well on the point and the beachy. Both were well populated as you’d expect.
Outlook is for the NE to get going later and be up to 20-30kts by dark.
Next tide is a low at about 1345.
More from me later…
Avalon to Narrabeen Rpt
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 in Surf Reports.Tide still looks a bit full, but as it drops we should we able to fully appreciate a punchy head-high offering from the south east. Bless you, Huey!

Byron Bay Weekend Windup
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 in Surf Reports.
Well there’s another week over for us here at In Byron Bay Today. There were some good waves for logging most days but very little for any real shorties excpt for thursday which had size, but was lumpy. The weather was radically unpredictable and so was the swell. Yet that didn’t seem to stop a whole lot of people having fun. It was just one of those weeks; it would be raining heavily one moment and blazing sunshine the next. Truth is, most visitors spent the entire week rushing back and forth from the beach between cloud bursts. Most surfers found that if they didn’t bring a log or a fish they’d wasted their time. But hey, that’s just the way it was this last week in Byron Bay. Thought for the week. Why do the Gold Coast crew, drive straight past high quality empty waves to come and pack out the bay? We sure as hell don’t know.

A southerly arrived early and laid waste to most surf options on Monday, but the east swell still had some legs and there were waves to be had at the Bower and Collaroy. So, I grabbed...
