Hello Friends,
Been keeping a weather eye on the buoy data from down south and as of 1645, there haven’t been any obvious signs of a significant change to swell conditions.
To spare you the trip to check yourself, here’s the latest set of numbers:
Sydney: South 1 metre at 7 sec
Batemans Bay: South, 2 metres at 6 sec
Eden: 1 metre at 6 sec (buoy does not provide direction data)
6-7 seconds is windswell, so no sign of juice in those average values. Let’s consider the peaks
Sydney Sea + Swell: 2m, peak period 8s
Batemans Bay Sea + swell: 3m, peak period 7s
Eden: Sea + swell 2m, peak period 9s
So, no real long period component in there…
The models continue to show us getting 2-3 metres of 11 sec south swell from early tomorrow morning. And the Bureau is calling for NW-SW wind of 10-15kts, swinging SE-NE 10-15 kts in the afternoon. Should be mostly sunny as well, with the current forecast 15-24 on the coast. First tide during daylight hours on Friday will be a low at 1038.
I’m not taking any chances. Even though there’s noting in the buoy data, I choose to BELIEVE! I shall arise early and tell you what I see.
