From Sharkwater

As many of us know, sharks are in the headlines now.
But millions of sharks are killed by finning each year.
You can help stop the mindless slaughter of millions of sharks [for shark-fin soup] each year by coming to see the movie ‘Sharkwater‘.
No-one knows how the marine ecosystem [on which we depend for much of our oxygen] will be affected by the killing of the top ocean predators.

The amazingly beautiful [multi award winning] photography of
‘Sharkwater’ and the thrilling adventure will transfix you. Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton gave it 4 stars]

“Driven by passion fed from a lifelong fascination with sharks, Stewart debunks historical stereotypes and media depictions of sharks as bloodthirsty, man-eating monsters and reveals the reality of sharks as pillars in the evolution of the seas.”

To introduce the movie will be Valerie Taylor, Knight of the Order of the Golden Ark, with her husband, Ron who made early underwater studies of these prehistoric animals and led to the new understanding of sharks. She says, ‘This documentary should be shown in every school in the world. It is brave, honest and above all illustrates how 2 men with right and courage on their side can change the way we should all see the future of our planet. I am humbled by the message this documentary offers I just hope all who see it feel the same’.

[all proceeds go to the ‘Sea Shepherd‘ and their work to save the marine ecosystem]
