Byron Bay Today May 19th 2009
Posted by: Big Ben on May 20th, 2009We got a few dry hours between showers In Byron Bay Today. But the big wet is on the way. All the current indicators point towards a pretty wild old time of it in the bay this week. But by late afternoon the wind and rain were steadily increasing but not the swell so coffee and cake were looking like the move for the day. Now whether you live here or are coming for a visit in the next few days. It may be prudent to exercise a little caution on the roads and in the bay. At 9.00pm the Bureau of Meteorology issued a Top Priority Severe Weather Warning and Flood watch for the entire Northern Rivers Region. It could all just disperse and blew over, and hopefully it will. Just leaving us with some nice swell. But if it intensifies, which is more likely. Then it’s going to get nasty and messy. It’s time for the beginners and less experienced crew to stay on shore and watch for a few days. Sure if you’re an old salt you know what you can handle, but if you’re not sure don’t risk it The SES are going to busy enough up here over the next few days. So wait for it all to settle down …..In Byron Bay Today.
