There’s Sunday done
Posted on June 28th, 2009 in Dee Why.Hello Friends,
Ended up staying glassy and rather small to flat at most places through the day. Interestingly though there was an uptick in the period from around 9 seconds up to 10 with some peak component at 13 seconds. So, although the swell height at sea is still around the metre mark, spots with exposure to the longer period stuff were starting to show a bit more energy.
One of the twitter users I follow who calls himself manlysurfreport was on it and tweeted as follows:
http://twitpic.com/8no0f – A nice sneaky little pulse at Curly for the Sunday evening crew
I popped up into the crows nest and grabbed a shot of a little one folding onto the beach at Dee Why in the late afternoon.
Shortly after taking the shot, I noticed that the last rays of the sun were illuminating the buildings in the CBD, so I grabbed a picture of that for you as well!
Not super optimistic about the prospects for us tomorrow, long period pulse not withstanding. But the middle of the week looks promising. If I had to pick a day, I’d probably go for Weds. at this stage…
Have a good one!!
midday and minor
Posted on June 28th, 2009 in South Narrabeen.Hello Friends,
It’s just possible to catch a tiny little closeout at south Narra as of noon today. Wind is not a factor, but those long waits and bomb sets in the knee to waist high range may possibly make almost anything else look more interesting!
Little ones on a Sunday morning
Posted on June 28th, 2009 in Dee Why.Hello Friends,
Off to kid soccer shortly, so just a quick snapshot from me for now. There appear to be little knee to waist high things getting into the beach just north of Dee Why SLSC. Surface conditions look to be glassy too. Coming off a very low tide and heading toward a high at a little after 1pm.

Manly Surf Report
Posted on June 28th, 2009 in Manly.Well if you thought it was small yesterday it is even smaller today so any chores that were not finished yesterday should be done today. Its a great day to be surfing if you are 3 foot high and weigh a mere 20kg. For the rest of us its going to be a struggle. Having said that you might just snag one of the occasional surfable ones if you are lucky. Enjoy your Sunday.
Byron Bay Today’s Weekend Windup June 27th 2009
Posted on June 28th, 2009 in Byron, Cool Picks, Just for fun, Local Colour, Stuff for free, Surf Reports.Ok here’s the Weekend Windup. Well what an odd week it’s been in Byron bay. Sunday was washed away with torrential rain, by Tuesday it was fine and sunny with joyous offshore barrels. Then the rest of the week has seen an eerie stillness with violet grey skies. The waves have been strange too, there’s been twisting cross ups and the banks are on the move again. But there were some damned fine barrels to be had at times. This week we went to check on the custom glassing of the In Byron Bay Today subscriber’s lucky draw Bob Brown board that’s been won by S. Mackay. It’s looking real nice too, hmm I’m sorely tempted to hang on to it for myself, but no. We’ll have a little presentation next week when the board’s finished and introduce you all to the bloke that won. Speaking of which, don’t forget we’ll be doing it all again sometime this yearlong or shortboard choice is yours. If you’re not a subscriber you can’t win, it’s free to subscribe so don’t be shy.
