Shooting Diary – Northy, Gardens, Curly, Manly
Posted on July 11th, 2009 in Don's surfin' pics, Top stories.Went shooting this morning and here are the results. The original pics are very high resolution so it is quite possible to get a clean looking pic out of a very small area in the image. Exposure kinda went off the rails, but it’s easily corrected if need be.

Posted on July 11th, 2009 in At large, Curl Curl, Gardens, North Narrabeen, South Narrabeen. As noted earlier, I was out and about with the Nikon D3 and 300 f/2.8 looking for some surf snaps. Got quite a few which I will post to galleries on my personal site later on. For now, here are some samples…
Sadly the NE winds are subsiding
Posted on July 11th, 2009 in South Carolina. After two drownings Thursday and another 3 swimmers rescued Friday its time to say we are glad the NE winds are now diminished. As the winds moves around to the SW for Saturday there is a good chance an early morning calm may be greeting you as you paddle out for the dropping 4 feet swell and a rising tide at 5:00 am.

Gone shootin’
Posted on July 11th, 2009 in At large, North Narrabeen, South Narrabeen.Hey all,
Just stopping in to offload a buncha pics I shot this morning so that I can have room for more. Fanged away on the shutter button of the ultra shmick Nikon D3 pro camera at both North and South Narra. Fatness and fullness prevail but it’s clean and there are fun waves to be had from Wetherill St to Northy.
Once I get my cards cleared, I might head south to see what’s up with Curly and Dee Why…
I will post sesh times and locations later for anyone that wants to sift through the pics to see if I got ‘em stylin’
C C It’s not raining for a change – yet?
Posted on July 11th, 2009 in Central Coast, Surf Reports.Overcast and mild on the Central Coast this Saturday morning. The swell is small, weak and semi-smooth at 1 – 2 feet from the east southeast. There is light east southeast breeze forecast to go northeast later. Low tide 0445 and high tide around 1045. Local barometer 1014 hpa, 9 degrees C. 96% humidity. Have a good weekend.
Smallish but not flat
Posted on July 11th, 2009 in Big Picture, Dee Why.Hello Friends,
There seem to be some small waves around this morning at Dee Why. A few bods were flopping around at the point where the sets look to be in the waist to chest high range. Quality looks okay but the period is only around the 8 second mark, so they’re not exactly juicy. Swell direction is now ESE and from the look of the charts it will, if anything, get more east in it as the day goes along.
Wind was lighlty offshore when I checked it at first light, but the call is for the wind direction to swing more to the northern quarters. The good thing is that it’s set to be light all day.
With luck we should start to see the swell perk up a little as the day goes along. The average heights up the coast from about Coffs north is currently sitting above the two metre mark. Given that the swell generator is up that way, I think we can at least entertain hopes of improvement for late this afternoon.
oops gotta do the 702 ABC radio report… back shortly
Next tide is a high at 1043 followed by a low at 1612.
