Hello Friends,
Out and about this morning with the camera to catch the last of the swell. It’s very setty now, but places exposed to the east swell direction are still showing the occasional shoulder high plus set. Here are some pics and brief comments…
Manly was very crowded this morning. Lots of 5 person takeoffs so don’t be deceived by the relatively uncrowded look to the snaps (of bomb sets mainly)…
Next stop was Curly which although radically less crowded was not in the same league quality wise. More just standard issue misc. beachy, ie the odd fun section and lots of shutdowns and weird ones. Again, a couple of set waves looked like this:
Over the hill at Dee Why the beachy was looking pretty small for the most part. Not too many in but every now and then a nice set would appear. The real action (and crowd) was at the point where the swell seems better tuned to the situation than yesterday. A water photog was out and the people in the water were obliging with enthusiasm. Don’t know that you could fit too many into that slot takeoff though…
Like my work? Why not sling a tip toward my new camera fund? I wanna get a pro rig like the one used for these shots (Nikon D3 and 300mm f/2.8), but I gotta save up first!
