mid morning lines

Posted on July 20th, 2009 in South Carolina.Looks like we will have a high pressure system sit on top of us for a while bringing the chance of afternoon storms and light south winds the next couple of days. This will extend our small wave summer for a good part of this week but if you catch the incoming tide after 6:30 am, you might have a very small fun wave with glassy conditions.

‘cuppla small ones, good condx
Posted on July 20th, 2009 in South Coast. Some nice little lines out of the S, 2ft waves with odd bigger sets into a cool W/NW breeze. Good condx as the tide runs out a bit. Probably worth a splash at lunchtime or early arvo if you can swing it. Rosco.
Nice morning, but
Posted on July 20th, 2009 in Dee Why.Hello Friends,
For some reason I couldn’t spot anyone in the water at the southern end of Dee Why beach when I climbed up to take a picture at around 0830. The latest run of data from MHL shows that the swell at sea is around about the same size it was yesterday, but Huey’s bumped up the period setting by around a second to 10s. Interestingly, there’s also some 14 sec component in the mix so I’d guess there should be a little something at spots with exposure to the SSE. There were some knee to waist high things as the tide dropped yesterday, so I reckon there’s at least an equal chance of that happening today as well.
Outlook for the next four days is pretty ordinary as far as the surf prospects go. The models are showing basically small and from the south. We’re getting a little taste of spring I’d say…
Have yourself a top old day!
Tide was low at 0626, and low is at noon.

Byron Bay Today July 19th 09
Posted on July 20th, 2009 in Byron, Just for fun, Local Colour, Surf Reports.Well that was one very pretty Sunday to start off the week, In Byron Bay Today. Not a whole lot of swell around for the little whiteboard set at the moment. But the bay itself was log heaven, for those that timed it right. The weather was just utterly perfect all day long; it was pretty much a case of winter, what winter? That’s not including the water, which was actually kinda chilly. The warm weather had folks wearing bikinis & boardies and leaping into the water with reckless abandon. Only to leap straight back out again, run to the car park to don a wetsuit. Without some rubber, you wouldn’t be staying in the water for long, unless you got a touch of Atlantic Fur Seal somewhere in your family tree. But I digress; the bottom line is that it was a stunner of a Sunday today. For all those kids currently on school holidays it’s shaping up to be a pretty nice week too. Whether a resident or a visitor, take a little time to look around, slow down and let all sink in. Remember to be grateful for what we have here, In Byron Bay Today.
