Midday at Longy
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in Long Reef.Hello Friends
Went for a splash in the last embers of the swell. Wait between sets was getting longer and longer and from the size of the crowd, methinks there weren’t that many other surf options around the place.
Here’s a snap to give you a rough idea of the size of sets…
dropping fast
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in South Coast. Some ok looking sets in the 2-3ft range early (7am-ish) but they seemed to have disappeared by about 9am. Left with 1ft straighthanders and a strong offshore. I’m guessing there are some bigger waves around at the swell magnets. Rosco.
We still have some three foot sets
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in Curl Curl, Surf Reports. It’s a bit bumpy but there’s still waves at Curly this morning. Wind is light from the west tending northerly later and the crowd is non existent. Great day and tide is dropping so it’s cleaning up a bit. Enjoy.
Winding down
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in Big Picture, Dee Why.Hello Friends,
Hope you got a few over the weekend because this morning looks like the tail end of the swell for Sydney. Last night on dusk I was down at Dee Why with my mate Barry for some fishing and it was obvious that the swell was fading. The sets were not only less frequent but getting smaller too. This morning sees the trend extended in the logical direction. Only a couple people were in the water having a go at Dee Why. One was sitting over at the point and the other was pulling back from shutdowns along the beach. I really admire that dedication.
As the tide drops toward noon I reckon there should be the odd wave at the south exposed spots. Size on sets could possibly reach waist to chest high too…
Might have a closer look shortly…
Go well.

Still a few waves around
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in Manly.Another lovely morning here in Manly today. The swell has backed off a tad after a great weekend of waves but there are still a few coming through. Its not great here but there is still some swell so I would be heading for the more exposed south facing beaches where you will get a little more size to play with. Its basically waist high on the sets and a light cool offshore is blowing. Happy Monday to you all.
CC Smaller but cute

Fine, dry and cool on the Central Coast this Monday morning. The swell is smooth and smaller at 1 – 2 + feet from the east southeast. There is light northwest breeze forecast to freshen and go southwest later. High tide 0640 and low tide around 1205. Local barometer 1012 hpa, 6 degrees C. 75% humidity. Have a great week.
Byron Bay Today Aug 2nd 09
Posted on August 3rd, 2009 in Byron, Just for fun, Local Colour, Site News, surf photography, Surf Reports, Weather.Greetings Real surfers, well we’re back at it, In Byron Bay Today. It was a glorious Sunday in the bay with people everywhere, the Byron Markets were buzzing and the sun was out. Meanwhile down at the beach it was offshore and looking a lot like logger heaven. But not looking good at all for the little whiteboards I’m afraid we got those banks again, slow and cruisey. Fun for a moose, but just no juice for anything smaller, even the fishes were finding it hard. Now you’ll want to take a close look around the site. A few things have changed while we were off. Told you we wouldn’t be able to help ourselves. You will find five new people in the Who’s that section, it’s a good and slightly controversal read. We’ve started to list our reviews as well, so make sure you keep an eye on the Latest Reviews section as well. There’s also the Simple Pleasures section. Now this is handy, because there are already discounts in there. We’ve really only just started this section and already there are offers in there worth making use of. You’ll also notice that there’s a little box to the right. That’s the weather, tide, swell and wind info for byron today, so while you’re enjoying checking yesterday’s photos you can be making plans for getting a few waves In Byron Bay Today.
