Posted on August 15th, 2009 in Surf Reports.on friday at 3 pm: just stirring at the lost village beach, with steady undulations under a glassy top, breaking around the shoreline at the boulder reef on the east side – i enjoyed a good paddle, but not too much more – conditions could improve fast, and will likely be more promising, a meagre 20 km further west at the fishing port, which faces open ocean for nearly the entire ocean horizon – the weeks of steady clear hot weather have given way to more changeable, damper, and entirely-promising conditions – …..
Curly at midday
Posted on August 15th, 2009 in Curl Curl.Looped by Curly after an errand and can report it’s busy, but not absurdly so. Sets look to be in the chest high range, but I’d say you’ll be waiting your turn.
Ouch… that hurts!
Posted on August 15th, 2009 in South Carolina.Roberto went into the small surf late today and was three for three when it came to rides vs. Jellyfish stings. What can I say, its summer in SC. The good news is that you do not even have to go into the water because there are no waves. Saturday will be flat with light East winds.

Fading… fading… get in quick
Posted on August 15th, 2009 in Big Picture, Dee Why.Hello Friends,
The quick version: there are still some little waves to be had this morning. You’re looking at sets in the waist to chest high range at spots exposed to the metre or so of SSE swell at 9 seconds. At Dee Why on low tide there were a few bods on the point and along the beach. Biggest set I saw was around the chest high mark.
The models say that we can expect the current conditions to last through today and to maybe even improve a touch for the scorcher expected tomorrow.
The early part of next week looks a possibility for some little waves (along the lines of what we have today), but the trend is toward near flat by midweek. Spring is coming…
Have yourself a great Saturday!
