Manly to Norffy
Posted by: Don on October 29th, 2009Hello Friends,
Had to run an errand this morning that took me to Manly. Naturally I checked all the beaches on the way back to Collaroy.
At 0900 it was just as marginal looking as when I filed my first report this morning – which is pretty disappointing given that the MHL buoy showed 19 second period swell arriving around 0800. Must be very small because I really couldn’t make out any sign of it. Oh well.
Manly had some knee high dribblers for mals and so did Curly at the south end. Dee Why was as earlier noted and North Narrabeen was unpopulated but looked like it might be possible to go a little way on a mal if you were really, really keen. Wind was sideshore and junky though.
The models are not filled with joy for us over the next few days. From my reading of the data, we might still – possibly – see a bit of improvement this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Beyond that though it looks like pretty ordinary prospects into early next week. Basically it seems as though we’re set for a run of weak NE driven windswell.
Whatchya got on this evening? Why not come along to the Wharf Bar at Manly ferry terminal for the Surfrider Northern beaches fundraising evening? Kicks off from 6-ish, so grab some friends and support the good cause.
Okay, a couple pics for ya…
