Hello Friends,

I was up in plenty of time to write my report for you, but the computer gods decided we need a poke apparently. Anyway, we’re back now, so I can now tell you that it’s very small and weak. Swell’s out of the NE at about a metre with an average period of just 7 seconds. The longer period component that was still hanging around yesterday morning has now vanished, so I wouldn’t be expecting any bomb sets.

Outlook is for the wind to build up from the NE as the day goes along and to eventually get up toward the 30kt mark. If that happens then we just might see some okay windwaves near dusk at those semi-exposed NE favourable locations like Curly and Northy.

on monday at 3 pm: up to twice over-head, strong swell, heavy rain – long, fairly glassy, slightly blustery lines at our rivermouth point, offering beautiful platforms and slow slopes, with tremendous force – one of the rare winter days, when the point magically becomes a world-class break – the swell was so strong, that i felt no urge to enter the point area campground itself – the action in the normally-restful pools to the east was intense – 12 brethren with me (including sisters), mostly taking leisurely turns for waves arriving continuously, with major sets every 3 – 5 minutes – with my customary short patience (and fast paddle moves), i waited 20 yards further in from the buzz, and took all to myself the strong inner right slopes – a suitable no-brainer – jolly onshore crowd, all surfers, hurray ! -**********- a seeker of silences am i, and what treasure have i found in silences that i may dispense with confidence ? – kahlil gibran …. ********** twitter mercuryloge

For Friday light north winds under 10 mph once again my surfing friends with a 3 – 4 foot bump that will do just fine on falling and rising tides at sun break or late afternoon starting around 3 pm. This may be your last surf for a few days as a rain front approaches for the weekend.

C C Hawaiian Paddle Board For Sale

Fine, dry and warm on the Central Coast this Friday morning.  The swell is smooth and small at 1 – 2 feet from the east southeast.  There is no breeze at the moment but forecast to go north northwest then northeast later (not early like yesterday unexpectedly. DB!).  Low tide at 0450 and High tide around 1120.  Local barometer 1006 hpa, 19 degrees C. 97% humidity.   Have a good weekend.

For Sale -  I have a Surtech (Tuflite) Velzy 12 foot Hawaiian Paddle board (not SUP) for sale.  Excellent condition. $950.00 (cost $1600.00 + new).  This board is a standard class racing paddle board and goes like the clappers, very fast.  Good cross trainer for paddling on flat days.  If you are interested I can send photos.  Contact Matt at  ms2007@bigpond.com

It’s all Happening, In Byron Bay Today.

Yes folks the countdown has begun, it’s the official start of Schoolies Break from tomorrow November 21^st  take easy in the water you guys it’s not a comp out there. And don’t forget when you’re away from home you’re in someone else’s home. A little courtesy and respect will go a very long way. Of course that also works both ways in Byron Bay today. This Sunday at 2.00pm sees the book launch of Andy Crockett’s long awaited ‘Switch Foot II’, at Ho’okupu; don’t miss that one, it should be fun. Then of course it’s only another week and a bit till the official beginning of summer, which is the first birthday for In Byron Bay Today. The real countdown for us now, is how we have tallied up with traffic for our first year live. We were innocently aiming at a nice round figure of 1 Million Hits as a goal. I haven’t calculated the final tally yet, but we now know that will stroll over the line with a lazy 8 million+ Hits in our stats account. Now that’s  healthy traffic. So I would just like take this chance to say a big thank you, to all you groovers. All the guys & girls that have made it so clear to us, that you enjoy our hard work.
