Couldn’t surf, snorkled instead

I know it’s not surfin’, but there ain’t any of that going on in Sydney today and I wanted to get in the water. So when the mighty PB suggested adding another spot to the snorkling lifelist it wasn’t hard to say yeah.

Headed to the Basin at Mona Vale for a squiz at the undersea situation. We jumped off the rocks more or less due east from the pool and then worked our way from there all the way across to the headland on the other side of the bay.

Most interesting stuff was right off the rocks. More fish and interesting formations than in the middle of the bay. Out there is somewhat featureless and unpopulated (today at least).

Water was not super clear. Visibility was probably in the 10-15 metre range. And it was a touch chilly feeling as well.

Anyway, I had the Panasonic Lumix with, so here are a few shots…
