Farewell Summer 2010, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted by: Big Ben on March 1st, 2010So that’s it folks, it’s all done and dusted, and what strange summer it was . The crowds in town were down, yet the incidents in the water were up, then just when we thought it was all over, Chile was struck by a magnitude 8.8 earthquake, killing hundreds and triggering a tsunami alert throughout the entire Pacific Basin, Byron Bay included. So what’s next Huey, a plague of giant flesh eating ducks sweeping the southern hemisphere? Who knows, what I do know is that autumn officially starts tomorrow, I can’t help but wonder what we’re in for, last year we got hammered by one storm after the next. It was beautiful, but at times pretty heavy too. Me, I happen to love autumn, the weather gets a little cooler and the surf gets a just little less crowded as a result, it’s usually a season of more rain and wilder swells, it has its moments of extreme beauty and incredible light and hopefully waves. We’re still waiting for backup gear to arrive, so in the meantime check out some of our favourite shots from the heart Autumn 09 Aprils best as we see it, In Byron Bay today.
