Ului Stalking, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted by: Big Ben on March 18th, 2010Everyone’s talking about Cyclone Ului although we’re yet to see any real swell. While we’re all jumping up and down at the prospect of a, wave frenzy, spare a thought for our buds in Fiji who just got smashed by Cyclone Thomas. Let’s not forget that as we get swell, our fellows up the coast are about the get slammed as Ului makes landfall somewhere up the Queensland coast. For those of you who are yet to surf Cyclone swell, be respectful of it folks. When it hits it’ll start as short period swell, maybe six seconds or so. But it’ll soon draw out to twelve maybe even fourteen seconds between waves. That’s long thick swell people, which means clean up sets that are capable of standing up in deep water. It may not look any different but when you get out there it’s a whole different ball game. Hopefully we’ll get primo waves and everyone will come through it safely with plenty of stories to tell. We’ll keep you all posted on how it all pans out, In Byron Bay Today.
