Swell way down

11am update:

No winds, and waves departing just as quickly. Still some nice peaks but what a change in a few hours.

At least 15 kts of “breeze” up already but it’s totally offshore at Dee Why. Swell way down on yesterday and now into the “very surfable” range for those of us that looked on in awe at yesterday’s elite. Already 8 guys in the water in the semi-dawn between suck-up and first rock but I didn’t see anyone get a wave except for one shoulder-high curler next to the rocks. The beach is smooth and in the shoulder-to-head-high range, maybe a little bigger on the odd rogue set. You’ll need to paddle hard though cause they’re not steep. Could be some longboard wars today. . .

Watching from shore in my neck-brace,
