"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Another windy day

Hello Friends,

Strong, cold westerlies this morning and a diminished ENE swell (it was around the 1.5 metre mark at 0600) saw Dee Why point and the beachy offering clean waist to chest high sets every now and then.

The Bureau says the wind will settle into the SW and get stronger still. It’s already really going pretty hard out at sea, so I don’t think you’ll want to be pushing the tinny out in for a fishing expedition today.

It looks as though the swell will go around to the SE by evening and, if the Bureau has it right, be getting into the 2-3 metre range. The models have scaled back expectations for large conditions tomorrow, but it won’t be small. Wave faces in the three metre range at south facing spots seem entirely plausible at this point. Combine that with a ten second period and stiff offshores, and you have the makings for a very good day on Friday.

I processed a heap of images overnight and will have three fresh galleries up later today. If you got amongst it at Northy, Bungan or Mona Vale, you’ll want to have a squiz to see if I got a snap of you. Remember, when you see me shooting, I’m aiming to get good pictures of anyone who gets a wave – including you!

Go well with your day!
