Dee Why: Lots of waiting and hoping.
Posted on September 30th, 2010 in Surf Reports.Another magnificent morning. A few waves about. Clean but super small; only barely breaking at the Point
2 – 3 foot this morning.
Posted on September 30th, 2010 in Longy. The swell has increased to 2 – 3 foot with waves on the bombie ledge (not to consistent) and down the beach out infront of the lagoon. There are also waves down near the Poles all the way to Dee Why. Wind from the west at about 10 knots and is still a little bumpy. Surf Photos of You. Enjoy.
Holiday Bits, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted on September 30th, 2010 in Byron, Surf Reports.
As the wait for waves goes on, many folks were out enjoying their holiday, in Byron Bay today. It was yet another classic spring day, we had it all wind rain, sunshine, crystal clear water, but still virtually no swell to speak of in the bay. So it was a good day for hitting the beach or the Top Shop for a nosh, swimming, and paddling, chilling and just generally enjoying the holiday bits, In Byron Bay Today.
Bigger than yesterday… bigger tomorrow.
Posted on September 29th, 2010 in Longy. Its getting a little bigger at Long Reef this morning. 1 – 2 foot at best. The beach is still empty of surfers (7.10am) mainly because of the strong SW wind making conditions bumpy. Plus the temp has dropped (14c) from yesterdays summery conditions. Looks like the swell maybe on the rise, peaking Thursday.
Dee Why: Some swell on the way, along with some wind
Posted on September 29th, 2010 in Surf Reports.Pretty quiet out there at 0700 but forecast says will get a spurt of South swell later today along with 20-30 knots of S wind.
Beautiful morning and small wave at Dee Why Centre.
Typical, In Byron Bay Today.

Sunshine, whales, crowds and small waves, thunderstorms, wind & rain, it’s all just a typical spring day, in Byron Bay today. Mid morning the sun was blazing the groms were having a few waves and the whales were at play. By lunchtime it was so dark with thunderheads that street lights were trying to turn themselves on. It’s nothing unusual for this time of year, could be hot and sunny one minute and cold wet and hailing the next. It’s just the annual struggle between low pressure systems and the high pressure systems as Huey takes us through the often rocky and typically unpredictable transition from winter into summer, In Byron Bay Today.

Hello Friends,
I bet the old Sydney is pretty tiny this morning. According to the latest MHL data, the SE swell is only 0.5m out at sea. If there’s anything much going on, I’d be pleasantly surprised. The flatness looks like sticking around in Sydney for at least a couple more days…
(Your correspondent made the long trek to the other side of the pond last night. It was just about flat when we came in to a very hot (42!!) LA, but this afternoon it looks like a little SW swell has perked up for the Huntington locals. It was shoulder high on sets, but a high tide and sideshore wind, made conditions pretty ordinary.)
Here’s the latest from the Bureau:

Posted on September 28th, 2010 in Surf Reports.Sensational day today. Sunshine, blue skies and warm. Nothing doing on Dee Why Point but with enough foam you could get a little clean wave at Dee Why Beach.
Fine Sunny Smooth and 1 – 3 feet of South Swell

So ok yeah, there wasn’t a whole lot of swell, in Byron Bay today. In fact we were pretty much reduced to licking up the leftovers from the last few days. But what a glorious day Huey dished up anyway. As far as the surf is concerned it was really a choice between hunting isolated beachies, which is cool if you want something a little more chunky and empty. Or it was drag out the log, put the ego away and just paddle out to enjoy a beautiful spring day, In Byron Bay Today.
