"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Pretty but pretty tiny too

Hello Friends,

Good news this morning about the missing boat in the Mentawais turning up okay. A lot of relieved families and friends I’ll bet. There are worrisome stories though coming from some of the villages in the area where the Tsunami hit.

On a somewhat more inconsequential note, the surf situation in Sydney has slipped down another cog from very marginal to near flat. The primary swell direction has gone around to the NE. Actually it should be the primary chop direction because it’s only 7 seconds apart and averaging less than a metre at sea.

While we’re set for another few days of very small conditions, the run of the models this morning suggests that this morning is the low point and that for the next few days it should lift slightly – but be accompanied by more wind from the onshore quarters (see details below in the latest from the Bureau).

Long range outlook remains pretty so-so for the next week. Might be a little activity at east spots around Sunday and into Monday, but if we see sets into the shoulder high range, I’ll be happily surprised.

Go well with your day!
