Dee Why: Bumps, chop and slop
Posted on October 15th, 2010 in Surf Reports.Nothing pretty about Dee Why this afternoon. 15-30knots of NE whipping up a fury. And destined to get worse through tomorrow.
Get ya longboard….before the wind.
Posted on October 15th, 2010 in Surf Reports.Small again today, 2 foot. Swell from the NE and wind NNE at about 12 knots. Grey cloud covered morning with a few small (very small) fun waves on ya longboard. Wind expected to increase significantly this morning and into the afternoon from the NNE to gusts of 40kph with a 90% chance of rain (BOM). Get out there early! There is a forecast of a small increase of S swell Saturday. Surf Photos of You
About Time, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted on October 15th, 2010 in Byron.
So what can we say, just for today there was a brief respite the winds straightened out in Byron Bay today. The swell cleaned up and there was new sand on offer all over the place. After a week of being blasted by lumpy bumpy freakazoid mutant froth monsters, with driving rain and howling easterly winds, Huey decided it was finally about time. Time to give us a break, time for us to get waves, In Byron Bay Today.

Dee Why Afternoon Update: Going, going — gone
Posted on October 14th, 2010 in Surf Reports.Swell has all but disappeared here for now. No one on the Point and hardly anything happening at the beach either. Were a few waves earlier today at N Narra but was the usual 20+ crowd and only the odd head high wave.
Good wind direction, bad swell direction for Longy
Posted on October 14th, 2010 in Long Reef. The wind has turned this morning from N to NW making conditions ideal. Thats if there was any decent sized swell. Long Reef is only 2 foot at best as the swell is cruising by out of the NE. Get that old longboard out as its ideal for a few fun waves. High at 2pm. Hang Ten! Surf Photos of You
The Beat Goes On, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted on October 14th, 2010 in Byron.
Showing no intention of changing the tune for a few more days, Huey drummed out the same old beat again, in Byron Bay today. Of course being spring, I suspect the one thing we can expect is the unexpected. Today we saw a slight drop in swell although there’s still a whole lot of water moving around in the bay. So inexperienced crew, be real careful. The wind continues to howl from the east, although it’s begun to swing around to the north just a tad, and the waves are still an absolute mess. The good news is this, if you get out and have a walk you’ll start to notice just how much sand has moved around in the last few days. When this all settles down, we may even all lucky enough to score a few nice new breaks in the bay. But until that actually becomes reality, the beat goes on, In Byron Bay Today.
Queenscliff to Curly Rpt
Posted on October 13th, 2010 in Surf Reports. One of those days where it looks better than it actually is. Way cleaner than the past couple of days, but still pretty weak, and am not seeing much in the way of banks either. Disappointing, but surfable nonethless

Overcast but dry. There is a 2 – 3 foot east northeast swell inconsistent and messy. Northeast breeze. Have a good one…
Drying Out, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted on October 13th, 2010 in Byron.
Well thank you Huey, as it finally stopped raining just long enough for us all to dry out a bit in Byron Bay today. The swell is still pushing through from the east, what it’s losing in size it’s maintaining through a longer period. It’s definitely not as tightly bunched up on top of itself as it’s been for the last few days. So we might be seeing some cleaner waves soon in the bay. The big question of course is where? All the sand is shifting at a rate of knots. New banks are forming and disappearing just as quickly, but as per usual we won’t be saying where. We wouldn’t want to spoil the fun of stumbling across an empty bank, after all, it’s up you to get out and find a few, In Byron Bay Today.
