"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

You’ll have to scrape around, but if you’re keen…

Hello Friends,

As I drove around this morning to get a sense of the day, the radio was on with the latest news from Queensland. The scale of that disaster is hard enough for those of us outside the region to take in, so it’s impossible to imagine what it must be like on the ground. Meanwhile here in Sydney about the worst we have to deal with at the moment is some pretty woofy looking water and another morning of dodgy, choppy messed up ESE wind swell.

Once again there was a crowd on it at Northy ahead of the contest kicking in. Some fun sized sets rolling in too. But down the beach from there, the banks were just non-existent. Around the corner to the south there were a few bods messing about in the mess of Dee Why point. Much smaller than Northy and junkier too though.

The latest run of the forecast models is showing a very slightly less enthusiastic projection for waves this weekend.  But, I’m happy to report that they are still calling for 10+ sec 1.5-2m east swell for Saturday morning. By Sunday morning the current estimate is we could have 12 sec periods and that those power levels should persist into Monday. Could be pretty fun, particularly in the mornings before the wind gets going. Right now I’m hoping for 1.5x overhead on the bombs at exposed spots Sun and Mon.

Go well!
