"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

SE Saturday

Hello Friends,

A somewhat disreputable start to proceedings this morning. The clouds were scudding in on a steady SSE’ly of 20-25 kts as the sky began to lighten at daybreak. The 8 second south swell is averaging about 3 metres out at sea but at Dee Why point the big ones would be struggling to make two metres trough to crest. There were a few hardy types out amongst the grey and very messy conditions. Good to see people who are that stoked.

The Bureau tells us that we can expect wind to be out of the SE by midday and while it’s expected to back off a touch, the junky conditions look like being with us all day. And from the shape of this morning’s forecast, we’re facing these onshore and junky conditions into Monday morning. The Goat’s call for the week ahead is lining up with the latest run of the swell forecast models this morning, ie bumping along at marginal to near flat settings.

There is some hope that by next weekend we might possibly see some energy out of the Coral Sea. But I wouldn’t be making any plans just yet!
