Dee Why midday update: a bit smaller than earlier today

The odd rain shower rolling through and only minimal wind at 1330hrs but the size at The Point seems to be dropping a bit as the swell shifts more E. Still some head high sets now and again but the bigger ones seem to be sectioning out and the rides are not the best. If you’re looking for a surf today, I’d be heading for places like Manly, The Bower, Narra or Whale Beach (but best to avoid Newport and Bilgola due to possible shark activity from the dead whale washed up at Newport)

On the horizon, expect to see the swell start to build significantly over the next couple of days as an offshore low pressure system intensifies to the East. I’d be guessing we’ll see waves in the 3+m vicinity by tomorrow afternoon.
