"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunday with sunny skies and waves all day

Hello Friends,

Coldest morning so far this year but that hasn’t deterred the crowds at Dee Why. Swell has a touch more east to it and it’s still a respectable 3 metres at sea with a period of around 10 sec. That should ensure that there are a few more surf options around this morning than yesterday. Wind never got up to the velocities expected yesterday and it looks as though it’ll be breezy again today, but offshore and easing for the late. All and all it looks as though there should be surf the whole day long.

On current reckoning the swell will be gradually fading today, but there should still be some reasonable energy around for tomorrow morning. The models are showing the average period staying above the 10 sec mark too, so that should mean nice, juicy waves at optimal spots.

Looking ahead, the latest run of the models are showing steady swell through Tuesday and then a pretty solid looking long period pulse appears in the cards for Wednesday.

I was out and about with the camera yesterday and will have a couple galleries to share later. I hope to repeat the exercise today, so if you see me, wave hi.

Heading out now for a bit of beach cleaning with the Surfrider crew at south Curly. If you want to join us, just bring along a pair of sturdy gloves and look for our tent on the green.

Have a top old day!
