Fun looking morning

Hello Friends,

Well, the skies were supposed to be clearing and the wind was meant to be onshore, but this morning at 0700 it was largely clear and there was just a light N breeze at Dee Why. I do note that over at Kurnell it was light SSW. Sets at Dee Why were into the chest high range along the beach and around waist high at the point thanks to 2 metres of 10 second south swell.

The Bureau says it doesn’t expect the swell to change much over the next few days, and most of the riffs on the WAM data are in agreement. But there are a couple outliers that reckon the numbers mean an increase in period overnight into tomorrow morning.

Anyway, for today it looks as though what we have now in the way of wave energy should stick around at the very least. Again, things will be more interesting up in the north corners, particularly this afternoon as the sea breeze comes around to the NE and bumps up into the 10-15 kt range.

Have yourself a fun one!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over western Victoria extends a ridge across much of New South Wales. By Saturday the high will be over the Tasman Sea, while a trough of low pressure approaches the state’s west. Between these two systems, northerly winds are expected to develop along the coast through the weekend. The trough is expected to enter western New South Wales during Sunday, continuing to the coast on Monday.
