Yes thats a wave
Posted on December 14th, 2011 in Manly.I swear today could be a winters day but I’m not complaining. Some solid 4ft sets, offshore wind, maybe a bit straight but they are actually proper waves. Could get full as tide comes in but morning crowd should thin out. Have a go while it’s here.

Where’s the swell?
Posted on December 13th, 2011 in Surf Reports.A bit of swell out there but it’s not really getting into Dee Why Point. And the ones that are aren’t really doing much. Take off followed by a closeout is the rule of the day. And the wind has just kicked up to about 12-17 knots, and shifted south.
One second later it was a total shutdown.
2 foot south.
Posted on December 13th, 2011 in Dee Why.There is a 2 – 3 foot SE swell with a south wind… So its southern corners. Surf Photos of You.
Bit Soft
Posted on December 13th, 2011 in Manly.2-3ft of weak SE swell getting into Manly. SSW wind is friendlier this morning so most of the beach is clean but everyone is gathering south of the border for more protection. Lots of waiting and a bit soft. Soft waves are a great reason to grab a new EPS longboard from Surfboards Direct. New range is selling out fast. Check them our here: http://www.surfboardsdirect.com.au/longboards

Drape Some Toes, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted on December 13th, 2011 in Byron. It was just one of those mornings, small clean waves, sunshine, offshore winds and not surprisingly the loggin crew suddenly appeared, in Byron Bay today. Yes there were plenty of punters floating around in the lineup and getting in everyone’s way. Yet that is to be expected with school holidays and all going down right now in the bay. But hey there were moments, albeit a tad soft and slow, when some of the crew scored just a few and even managed to drape some toes, In Byron Bay Today.
Woeful morning in Sydney
Posted on December 12th, 2011 in Dee Why.
Hello Friends,
Do you like southerlies and rain? Well, you got it this morning in Sydney. Wind is pushing along at 15-20 kts right now and is due to pick up into the 20-30 kt range. Tide’s running up to the high at 0900 and Dee Why isn’t the better for it. There was a single person in the water chasing junky lumps in the corner amidst the chop and rafts of seaweed in the impact zone.
Outlook for the rest of the day is not good, and tomorrow and Wednesday look like more of the same but maybe with less rain.
Oh well, looks like a few days to get things done. Maybe later in the week we’ll see some improvement to the settings. This morning’s interpretations of the wave models is pointing toward reasonable prospects for early risers from Thursday through Saturday. We shall see!
Have yourself a top old day.

PICS: Long Reef on Sunday morning 11 Dec
Posted on December 12th, 2011 in Don's surfin' pics, Top stories.
A sunny Sunday morning with enough east swell to light up a few spots, including Long Reef. I shot for close to an hour not far from the lifeguard hut. There was a pretty useful sort of left hander and though it was rather crowded, it didn’t seem as though anyone was really missing out.
Here’s a little slideshow of some of the highlights…
