Ooops 2012, In Byron Bay Today.
Posted by: Big Ben on January 3rd, 2012So there we have it, it’s done, and the silly season is officially over. Now it’s time for the serious business of having some fun in the sun, in Byron Bay today. We decided that seeing as there was so much tragedy around the globe last year, we’d like to start the year with a bit of a giggle. Let’s face it when it comes to surfing wipeouts are often pretty funny; nobody makes it all the time, that’s a fact. No matter how cool, groovy, talented or legendary they may be. Everyone comes unstuck at sometime. To think otherwise is to forget the fact that out there in the water, Huey runs the show. Some people reckon we should never publish the wipeout shots. Especially of those who are really good, they say it damages reputations. When I first heard that one, I had to refrain from laughing out loud. Let’s put it this way. It’s really important to be able to laugh at ourselves, it’s healthy. So in the tradition of those old 70’s surf movies that always dedicated a segment to wipeouts, here’s a few oops moments to welcome in 2012 in the bay. Just a short note folks, we’re sort of on our summer break right now, but we’ll continue to bring you some best of updates and other bits and pieces until we start shooting live again on Sunday Jan 8. Here’s hoping 2012 is a peaceful year to you all and thank you for being a part of In Byron Bay Today.
