Drizzly, grey and unappealing

Hello Friends,
No particular reason for Sydney surfers to be out of bed early this morning. A combination of lowering grey skies and 10 kts of SE’ly would be enough to put off most of us. But throw in an anaemic 6-second period SE wind swell with an average height of 1.5 metres, and you paint such a picture of woefulness that even the super keen will be thinking about finding a coffee.
The wind isn’t expected to change much across the day and the showers are only expected to be scattered, but swell prospects are highly unlikely to improve. Indeed, the energy levels are likely to fade if anything.
Outlook for tomorrow is no better than today. We’re due for continued cloudy skies and onshores out of the east to south east – and no improvement to the swell settings. I don’t like the look of the weather forecast for the coming week either. Basically it’s set to be grey and showery through to Friday with a steady supply of onshores.
This morning’s run of the swell forecast models suggests that we’ll see a gradual increase to the average size of the dominant easterly wind swell. So, if we’re lucky, there might be some junky but rideable stuff in semi-protected zones. But quality? It looks as though you can forget that for at least a week.
So it goes.
Have yourself a top old Saturday.
If you haven’t come across this one yet, here is some terrifying slo-mo footage of stupidly massive chopes
