Some activity to be seen

Hello Friends,
A late night sees your correspondent wander into the wheelhouse at a leisurely hour this morning. Swell is still out of the SE but maybe a touch bigger out at sea than yesterday. As of 1000 it was a couple metres with an average period of 8 seconds, but also, importantly, with some 10 second component. There was a small crew in attendance at Dee Why point. They were chasing waist to maybe chest high, rather soft looking little waves.
The wind was pretty light when I first checked, but by this afternoon it should be onshore from the east to SE at about 10-15 kts.
Tide is high at 1225, so things should be fat and full until mid-afternoon.
Outlook for the coming week is generally for cloudy skies and onshore wind. A couple of the model interpretations are showing the swell picking up a bit over its present level. While that should mean slightly bigger waves, the dominant component looks as though it’ll be pretty short period. I’m expecting junky and not very good basically.
Have yourself a top old Sunday!
