Still small thanks to weak little east wind swell

Hello Friends,

Not much energy on the surf front in Sydney this morning. As with the last few days, your best shot will be to get yourself to a stretch of sand with good exposure to the east. That said, my guess is that your biggest wave will be struggling to get to the waist high mark.

From the shape of the morning’s batch of swell model interpretations, it looks like the weekend will see a bump to the size but only because there going to be a strong southerly. Not much quality in prospect from what I can tell.

Oh well, maybe next week…

Sydney area
Partly cloudy. Isolated showers in the afternoon and evening, chiefly in the west, with the chance of thunderstorms. Winds north to northeasterly averaging up to 30 km/h.
Sydney Marine
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards northeast of the state as a deep low pressure system moves south of Tasmania. A front will move across NSW on Friday, bringing a gusty southerly change to the far South Coast later in the afternoon or evening. This change will extend to the Illawarra coast by dawn Saturday, then to the Macquarie coast that afternoon. Fresh north to northeasterlies are expected over most waters ahead of this change, and will be strong at times near the Victorian border.
