"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Southerly and wild

Hello Friends,

The MHL buoy was reporting 3 metres of mainly SE wind swell with a power setting of 8 seconds. The swell is lined up with the SE wind direction and as of 0830 wind was 15-20 kts across the various Sydney weather stations. From the shape of the forecast, the wind will come up a bit more before moving more east (oh good) late in the day.

The swell modelling this morning is pointing toward a gradual increase in the energy levels over the next 24-48 hours as the swell moves around to the east.

At the same time, the wind is set to be east to NE tomorrow and NE going northerly late on Wednesday. Showers are a factor for the next couple days, but Wednesday could see a break to partly cloudy. Could be fun then and Thursday might be even better for waves. Feels like we’re coming into the joys of autumn my friends.

Go well with your Monday!

Next tide is a high at 1330.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is moving very slowly east across the southern Tasman Sea maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast. A trough in the western Tasman Sea will approach the North Coast today and weaken on Tuesday. Another low pressure trough is expected to bring southerly change to the far south coast later on Wednesday extending to the central coast by Thursday morning.
