Little peaks about for the searcher

Hello Friends,

Small but not flat – if you’re in the right spot for the metre or so of 8 sec period east wind swell.

There were occasional waist high sets at various peaks along the Dee Why to Long Reef stretch and at North Narrabeen. Given the swell direction, I’d say there’d be a fair few (small) options around this morning. Winds are set to be mainly light and from the NE today. If you can get out this morning, you’ll get the best of the surface conditions with the incoming tide.

This morning’s swell model interpretations are pointing toward a gradual bump upward this evening as the mainly east wind swell picks up a touch. The consequence should be something in the waist to chest high range from Friday morning through the weekend. Some of the long range forecasts are showing a substantial east swell event developing in about a week’s time, so it really looks as though we’ve moved resolutely away from the summer surf doldrums.

Have yourself a top old day!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast. This high will be one of the dominant features in the region during the next day or two as it drifts slowly east, maintaining mostly east to northeasterly winds along the coast. A trough of low pressure is expected to bring a fairly weak southerly change to the southern half of the coast during Thursday, easing again during Friday as the ridge reasserts itself.
